Sabum Nim Murray was promoted to 1st Dan black belt in May of 1994 at a combined Goulburn and Yass grading in Gunning. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to instructor and took over the Goulburn dojang from Sabum Nim Glenn Fenwick. He was awarded his 2nd Dan in February 2001, making him the most senior Instructor in the Canberra region.
Murray has dedicated many years to the art of Rhee Tae Kwon-Do and assisted approximately 25 students in achieving their black belts; including his two elder sisters, his father and his wife. Murray’s 2nd eldest sister, Sabum Allison, assists in running classes in the Goulburn area.
Murray recently reopened the Goulburn dojang after having to close for work and study commitments. He continued to remain committed to Rhee Tae Kwon-Do in the interim, attending all action days. His short time away from instructing has recharged his batteries and left him ready to meet the challenges of the future and to further promote Rhee Tae Kwon-Do in the Goulburn and surrounding region.
